Agriculture has become the prime and principal occupation of the majority of People in Odisha. The Farmers are not provided with required facilities i.e. Proper Marketing facilities, Storage and processing of Agricultural produces so as to fetch proper returns from their Cropping varieties of produces. In consequence, the poor farmers are put under pressure to make distress sale of food grains facing heavy losses in the cropping pattern. Therefore it is essential to learn the techniques and processes of appropriate storage and processing by the concerned farmers of the respective project fields for possible solution for encouraging farming process. This organization has already conducted several awareness camps to sensitize the people about techniques of food processing and establishment of concerned food Processing Units in their respective villages to aware the people to join in the Food Processing training. During this year a total of 6 nos of Training Camps have been organized in Nimapara, GOP, Kakaptur, Astaranga and Puri Sadar Blocks of Puri district . A total of 180 Beneficiaries participated in the training camps. Out of them 100 male and 80 female being selected from the above five Panchayat Samities involved in this Food Processing Training program during this year of 2015-16. The theme of the trainings were:- proper grading of variety of Agricultural products, Proper storage and processing of Grains and vegetables for preservation by means of use of certain chemical components for the purpose of meeting the necessities throughout the year. Professional & Technical personnel’s from reputed institutions /organizations were invited to work as resource persons.
